Join me at The Guiding Lights Weekend

Friday, JAN 29th - Saturday, JAN 30th, 2010

I’ll be presenting a workshop at The Guiding Lights Weekend, a great community-building conference.

At The Guiding Lights Weekend, Seattle change-makers will have a historic opportunity to connect with leaders, including our keynote speaker, Professor Charles Ogletree of Harvard’s Houston Institute for Race & Justice, and panelists with national stature including Jim Shelton, the man in charge of President Obama’s education innovation agenda. I’ll be there, and so should you.

As our nation prepares to celebrate MLK Jr. Day, now is the perfect time to stretch your skills and re-invest yourself in Closing the Opportunity Gap.

With collaborative creativity and a spirit of serious play, the conference comes at this theme from many directions: interactive workshops, challenge prizes for new partnerships, youth-led conversations, and much more. The program activities will cover a wide array of topics — implicit bias, immigrant empowerment, asset-building, the “men” in mentoring, and the school-to-prison pipeline, to name just a few. And all the activities will enable and equip you to DO. Inspiring action is the name of the game.

The Guiding Lights Weekend offers a powerful experience of truth-telling, change-making, and community-building.
